New Delhi: The Supreme Court granted anticipatory bail to Television actor Rahul Ravi. The bail was granted by the court in a domestic abuse case lodged by his wife, Lakshmi S. Nair. The bench that granted the bail was headed by Justice C.T. Ravikumar.
The police had been searching for Rahul for two months in regard with the case. Subsequent to this, he went into hiding. The police conducted search for him in four states including Kerala. Earlier, the Madras High Court had granted bail to Rahul in this matter, but the court cancelled it on the ground that he had furnished false information in the affidavit and ordered his arrest. Following this, the actor approached the Supreme Court seeking anticipatory bail through Subash Chandran and Kavitha Law Associates, a leading law firm in the Supreme Court of India. Advocates Subash Chandran and Kavitha Subash appeared on behalf of Rahul Ravi.
Rahul Ravi shot to fame with the popular television series ‘Nandini’. Rahul and Lakshmi got married in December 2020. Recently, there had been reports that the two were separating. According to the FIR registered by the police, when his wife Lakshmi came to Rahul’s apartment on April 26, 2023, she saw another young woman there with him. There were also reports that Rahul was regularly assaulting Lakshmi. It is after this that he went missing.
